About CheckESNFree.com

CheckESNFree.com is a free service to check the status of an ESN on a wide range of wireless carriers. The need for such a service varies, but for the majority of the people who use CheckESNFree.com, it's a way to make sure the devices they're buying or selling is clean to activate on their account.

As most new online services, we started out small, only catering a few local friends, and then on to several popular online forums where those who had Sprint, Boost, and Virgin Mobile phones needed a fast and simple way to verify ESNs for future sales or purchases. Now with over 11,000 ESN checks a day we seem to be reaching more and more people all the time.

On March 29 2011, We decided to work on adding new providers to our site. The second addition to the site was Verizon Wireless. While the Verizon system isn't as organized as the Sprint system, and because of how Verizon stores ESNs in their database, there may be an occasional issue with the system reporting a clean phone as a bad phone, so because of this, we have added a secondary method which will notify you with a flashing message to call Verizon to double check an ESN if the system reports it as being both clean and bad. Note: We can not verify the status of PagePlus ESNs at this time.

MetroPCS was the third largest request received by our visitors. With the addition of MetroPCS, we have been able to help everyone from those who buy/sell phones, to those who flash phones with the addition of our MetroPCS SPC Calculator.

With Cricket Wireless making it's way into one of the top prepaid carriers, we were pleased to add them to the list of services we provide. It isn't as highly usable as the other top three (Sprint, Verizon, MetroPCS) but it has become a very useful addition to the site for many of those who are into flashing phones to Cricket.

Lastly, with the addition of Straight Talk, we were able to include TracFone and Net10. While Straight Talk is beginning to increase in popularity, especially because of their unlocked SIMs... Net10 and TracFone primarily cater to a very small amount of resellers on Ebay.

CheckESNFree.com is 100% free to use with a limit of 30 checks per day. Although, with the cost of operations, and services rendered, we must display ads, and charge for additional services or additional ESN checks beyond 30 checks in a day.
