Why is it several sprint phones have showed up clean on the website, but end up being assigned to someone else's account and cannot be activated. If that's the case it should show up as a Bad ESN phone.
Often times, the case is that the ESN really is clean, but Sprint CSRs will tell you it's not clean in an attempt to make commission for selling you a new phone, new plan, or new contract.

We have double checked over 2000 ESNs for people who have complained that our site shows ESN was good, but Sprint said it was bad.

If when you check an ESN on CheckESNFree.com and it shows clean, and Sprint says it's not clean... we advise you to check with Sprint again either by live CSR, or by using their online chat, http://www.Sprint.com/chat

Also, you may email us at contact@CheckESNFree.com with the ESN and we will double check it for you.
Thanks for the reply. Well I buy and sell alot of phones. I use this site as a way to check the ESN prior to purchasing the phone which is usually when Im meeting somebody somewhere to buy the phone. I DISLIKE dealing with sprint CSR over the phone because they always act clueless and take forever when I want to check a ESN. Where as Verizon is easy and quick to call for service. However I bought a couple Sprint phones and the esn came back clear on the website. I sold the phones and found out the ESN was not clear because someone's name was still attached to the account. So I lost out. So I guess from now on when dealing with sprint phones I will meet at the sprint store with the seller.

Take note of this thread, http://www.checkesnfree.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=15

If your phone was one of the following listed here, it could be an i-Wireless phone, which is branded and sold by Sprint to i-Wireless.

Also, in the event that an ESN comes back clean on the website, but Sprint tells you or anyone else the ESN is bad when trying to activate it... check it again with another CSR, or using their online Chat.

That's the only options I can give you aside from taking the phone into a Sprint store. Rarely do we actually see a real Sprint phone show up clean when it's in fact bad.
