Does anyone know of any way to tell for sure if a Sealed iPhone 5 is for Verizon or Sprint without popping the seal and checking what sim card comes in it?

Thanks!

Wouldn't the box state what the carrier is, on the back? Or did Apple remove that from the box? Other than that, checking the ESN with one or both carriers should at least have one of them saying "Invalid ESN," correct?

There is no info on the box stating the carrier. The iphone I bought from Verizon on release day had the sim pre-installed. They may have changed that since though. I just dont want to pop the seal but I may have to.

The one you got was sealed with the SIM installed from Verizon?

The ESN is on the box, shouldn't you be able to call sprint and ask them if it's clean, and if it comes up invalid it's safe to assume it's verizon?

Check the ICCID number on the box.

That will tell which carrier the phone is for, if it has a SIM.

Cool. My iccid starts with 89148

Is there a list of iccid identifiers?

Ok OK OK........ I am an idiot. I didnt even think to check the part number. MD654ll/A (which is what this phone is) is a Verizon iPhone 5. Right there in Black and white on the back of the darn box.
