CHECK BAD ESN. Verizon told different story
06-10-2013, 03:03 PM
Post: #11
I have been told in the past that badESN will ONLY show if it's truly a bad ESN. If there were any doubts, the status would say to call Verizon to check. Judging from your response to the initial post and the issues mentioned on this thread, is this no longer the case? How long would it take for checkesnfree to reflect the call verify status as opposed to just saying badESN in these scenario?

It seems that when checking ESN for recent LTE devices, the user needs to omit the last number from the IMEI then everything will be ok. I found out that the bad esn showed here because the IMEI is still linked to an active account, that's why it comes back as a BAD ESN device. For these devices I don't need to log into my account nor call customer service to activate them. I just insert my current sim card into these devices and I am good to go.

Makenshi,

This is not the case anymore, right now things are not functioning 100% and we are working with our supplier in an attempt to fix this issue.
