Recent Problems with Verizon Wireless

Due to some changes at Verizon when they upgraded services they offer, there has been a rather large amount of false "badESN" results.

We are aware that there are a lot of good, cleanESN devices that are showing badESN and the reason why is because Verizon's server is not giving us an accurate result when validating some devices.

If you have an LTE device or a device with a 15 digit IMEI, if you drop the 15th digit and run just the first 14 digits (MEID), you should get a more accurate result.

Due to this error on Verizon's part, we are flagging these devices as badESN to side on the error of caution.

We completely understand your frustration and are working on a way to improve our services to simplify ESN checking for everyone.

Please be patient and understand we are doing the best we can.

We have decided to make a change.

Instead of reporting "badESN" for these devices we can't get an accurate result for, we're giving you the result "callCheck" so that you can just validate against Verizon yourself.

We've had way too many people complain about the badESN result for devices that don't have a badESN.

Until things are fixed with Verizon, this is how it will be on our end.
